Provide your child the opportunity to re-connect with nature & their own self in a therapeutic way!

A growing body of research suggests that psychological and physical health improve for children when they spend time in nature on a regular basis. The Well Wilderness Therapeutic Programs allow us to see how children benefit from nature from a developmental perspective, including but not limited to gross/fine motor skills, visual processing, tactile, & social-emotional. The goal is for each child to experience movement & therapeutic play through all of the senses & to focus on how to practice mindfulness on a daily basis.

This 2-hour morning retreat will provide your child an opportunity to discover therapeutic mindfulness which has been proven to help teach children how to self-regulate their behavior through guided instruction within playful sensory-based activities. Your child will be introduced to mindfulness of the breath, the body, & of movement with intertwining of yoga poses and rhythmic movement to help improve their overall body awareness & self calming skills. Focus is placed on thoughts & emotions that can be related to experiences identified through play that will encourage development of physical, social & emotional skills in an environment that is therapeutically structured yet allows a child to naturally learn & interact within their own individual comfort level.

Your child will also have the opportunity to experience interaction with farm animals, nourishing snacks, & nature play on various swings, ziplines & balance apparatuses.

Camp is led by a pediatric Physical Therapist & Child Health Psychologist/Yoga Instructor. This camp session is limited to 15 campers to allow for a therapeutic 5:1 ratio. Open to ages 7-14 years of age.
