Well Wilderness Wednesday is back for May! The topic this session is something near and dear to everyone who is a parent to or works with young children.
What does learning look like and how do we determine what learning is taking place?
This hands-on workshop and small group discussion will focus on how authentic experiences in nature provide rich learning opportunities for all children.
Presented by Jill Anderson, this workshop is geared for parents, care providers, and professionals who are ready to discuss how nature play supports growth in all developmental areas and academic subjects, and how you can apply this knowledge in your home or program.
Jill Anderson has an Early Childhood Education degree from UMKC and a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Kansas. She has worked with young children in a wide variety of environments prior to coming to Well Wilderness Kids Therapeutic Nature Center, including a community preschool, a public school Pre-K program for children at-risk, and an Early Childhood Special Education classroom. Her passion and commitment are to promoting social emotional development to decrease anxiety and challenging behavior in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment to support greater success and learning for all children.
Workshop fee is $15. Documents will be provided to submit for CEUs as appropriate. Pre-register at www.wellbelliesandbabies.com under the Schedule tab.
